We are excited to finally launch our latest theme to come out of the Obox Signature Series, called ‘Press’.
Press is a minimalist blog theme which can serve many different purposes. The nature of its design means the modifications are endless and the boundaries for content are only determined by you.

While we were testing the theme Marc had cycling content on his test side, I had racing content and we had a third test site running with artwork orientated content. They all looked good with the theme.
Press also has the most color schemes compared to the rest of our Signature Series collection. They include:
- Red
- Maroon
- Apple Green (our favourite)
- Black & White
- Black & Blue
- Dark Purple
- Cream(ish) & Purple
Features of Press include the OCMX-Live backend which allows you to control your comments, adverts, gallery and much more. To read more about OCMX-Live you can visit the features page on Obox Design: OCMX-Live.

The gallery for this theme is different to any of the other sites we have created. Its layout allows you to use it as a gallery, a portfolio or even a product listing page.
The home page is customizable as each row is its own widget. This allows you to move the content around and declare different categories for each of the rows.
Press also comes equipped with threaded comments and some nifty jQuery effects.
Pricing
This theme is priced at the same rate as the rest of our themes, $50 for the Single User License and $100 for the Developer License (view our pricing page for more details). Remember that all our themes are licensed under the GNU GPL which means you can use this theme as many times as you like (and other stuff but that’s the most important).
We hope you like the theme and really look forward to your feedback!

Seriously loving the Homepage.
Another great theme guys, I am putting my neck out abit here, but I think this is your best one yet, so I am expecting even bigger things for the next one :P
But looks great, congrats :)
Well done guys! Been impressed with this theme since you showed me the preview a few weeks ago.
@Fox - We appreciate it dude, thanks!
@Craig - Thanks dude, I also like this theme the best, I wanted to keep it for myself :P
I am SO excited that its *finally* here!
Well done guys - you have done a fantastic job on this one :)
Congrats, looking good

dam comment, took my tag away!
meant #link input
@Simon - Damn, let me check that quick! Thanks for bringing it up.
This theme is seriously stylish. Great job! Need to find a place to use it...
No offense to you other themes, but this one is by far the best one. Heres why: 1) It is absent that obox signature shine and 3D-ness (those things are nice, but after a while it looks all too similar).
2) The gallery and archives pages are truly new. Not just the same old thing as other themes but with a different look, but actually re-invented.
Nice work on the design itself, as well as the development. Very slick.
@Meredith - Thanks Meredith, we agree with you totally and spent a lot of time trying to come up with something which we dont usually do.
I cant tell you how much time I spent looking at minimalist websites to just try understand what makes those sites look so good. Hopefully I understood correctly :)
Thank you guys for including the mighty PURPLE! Youve managed to knock this one out of the park - very distinctive look and feel. Its taken WP theming up a few notches I daresay. And I agree its yourbest yet. Ill definately use Press for a project as soon as an opportunity to do so comes along. Great job!
Already purchased :) Looks great guys, excellent work. Will start to work today to put this into action on the homepage for my future book, TheQuietLeader.com!
Wow, this theme is great. We done, you guys did an incredible job. I gotta agree with @Craig, I think this one is the best theme youve done.Congrats
Great theme guys! It was looks like it was well worth all your late nights. I think it might be one of the best ones in your collection. I love how clean the design is. Well done!
OUah !!!! Very nice themes. Keepin touch w
yeah! we are all unique designers by everyone having the same thing! dum newb designers. wordpress themes are for the unimaginative masses. keep following the herd as the successful designers make their own path. did you learn nothing from the social networking patterns?
Really nice one! Ill think about it when I need to redesign my portfolio!
@Neal - If you think that this is all we can do then you dont know us. If you look carefully you will notice that this blog is custom built. No Wordpress involved in We Are not Freelancers.
Herds dont graze at Obox Design ;)
this is fantastic, coinsides nicely with my latest blog post too!
keep it up guys!
@designussion - Nice collection of minimal sites you have there!
Nice. Minimalist and clean cut themes such as this are always good as they do bot get outdated with time.
Its absolutely gorgeous, but I cant see using a theme that wont work in ie6. (And I despise ie6 as much as anyone.)
@tom - We are glad you like the theme! We dont support IE6 because its a dying breed in terms of usage and more.
I bet if someone called Microsoft tomorrow for ask for IE6 support their answer would be upgrade, which is basically what we are saying to all those users out there.
No doubt. The sooner ie6 dies, the better. But when I look at my analytics Im always shocked at how many still use it.
No disrespect intended, David; Oboxs work is amazing and Press is truly unique.
@Tom - No offence taken at all Tom! I agree that still too many people use IE6 but I also think that as a community we need to stop supporting the browser which will end up forcing people to eventually upgrade.
I hear you. But I dont know if the communitys assumption that the remaining ie6 users can be made to upgrade is correct. I bet lagging ie6 users fall into two main classes of folks:
- people at work in corporate & governmental environments where the mission-critical stuff requires ie6 (and IT lockdown prevents upgrading), and
- completely non-technical folks like the elderly who are incapable of upgrading.
Any blog that doesnt want to alienate these people cant use your theme.
Its a bit frustrating, as I love your theme and I know you guys have the chops to make it work (I certainly do not!)
Thanks anyway.
yeah its awesome, i will buy it fersure. do you know any sites that are now putting it in action?
